***Disclaimer: I did receive these samples for free from Rebecca Peroulas who is an independent consultant for Rodan+Fields, I will include her information below if any of you are interested in using or trying any of Rodan+Fields’ products. I am however not affiliated with this brand and I am not being paid to review these products.***
To start off, the items I received as samples included the REDEFINE Daily Cleansing Mask, the REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum, and the REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum. The REDEFINE Daily Cleansing Mask. The full size REDEFINE Daily Cleansing Mask retails for $43 USD and it contains 4.2 oz of product. Price wise it is a little on the high end. Estee Lauders 2 in 1 foam cleanser contained 4.2 oz of product as well and costs $30 USD. Although they both do different things I just wanted to find a higher end cleanser with the same amount of product to compare it to as a price point comparison.
Next up is the REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum and it retails for $56 USD and it contains 60 capsules. Each capsule is a one use capsule so the product is good for 60 applications. In comparison, the Verso lip serum contains 0.5 oz and costs $65 USD on Sephora.com. So in comparison to the Verso lip serum, the price seem to be pretty reasonable as a high end lip serum.
Last is the REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum which retails for $99 USD for 60 capsules. In comparison to the Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle Serum by Kate Somerville which retails for $95 USD for 1 oz of product. As a price point, the Rodan+Fields Intensive Renewing Serum is just slightly more than the higher end repairing serum from another like brand. I will include pictures of the Lip Renewing Serum capsules (silver capsules) and the Intensive Renewing Serum capsules (blue capsules) below:
I have to admit that I actually really enjoyed the idea of having the product put into capsules for a perfect one-time use. It can be hard to determine how much of a product you should be using but this made it really easy so I do really love this innovative idea and I do hope more companies do this in the future. This could also be the reason why the product costs slightly more than like brands because the product is put into many little capsules.
Now time for my personal review for my experience with each of these products. I will start with the REDEFINE Daily Cleansing Mask! It smelled almost like fresh linen or clean fresh laundry. That was the first thing that popped into my head when I smelled this product, the color is white and the texture reminds me of a typical lightweight clay mask. The directions for this product are listed below:
After I put it all over my face it did start to dry down and feel like it was tightening on my face but not to the point of discomfort.
Here is what the mask looks like on, once it was fully dried, I went to go wash it off and it came off pretty easily. The difficult thing with testing out skincare products is that its hard to tell the effectiveness after just one use so all I can give is a first impressions review of these products. After the product was off, my skin did feel slightly tighter and more firm and it also did feel very soft and smooth. I will post a before and after picture at the end of this review of what my skin looked like before using these products and after using them all. I did notice my skin did look slightly brighter, let me know in the comments below if you all noticed that too or if that was just me!
Next up was the REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum, a picture of the directions are shown below:
This product I was actually extremely pleased with! My lips were extremely dry before I used this product ( I will include before and after pictures below) so I was surprised to see how well it did work! It actually made them look a lot more plump as well because before they looked very “shriveled up” and cracked. This is just after one use!
There was no smell that I could really detect and as I mentioned before I really did enjoy the capsule idea that this company instilled with their products. This product I really did love!
Last up is the REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum, directions are shown below:
I did use my own toner before using this product and the first thing I noticed when I opened this product was the smell, I actually really like the smell, it reminded me of eucalyptus which I know not everyone enjoys but for me personally I do definitely enjoy the smell! This product again was enclosed inside of a capsule which again I really do love. As I was applying the product, the texture reminded me of a silicone based primer so it was definitely smoothing and it was slightly thick. While the product was on my face it didn’t irritate my skin at all and it didn’t make my skin itchy, it was comfortable on my skin. Again, after just one use I cant determine the effectiveness of the formula but I can provide you with my first impressions. I do like the feel of this product and the texture of it but again I am not sure of the effectiveness at this point.
Below I will post a before and after of my skin before and my skin after I finished using all of these products! My skin definitely did look a lot brighter afterwards and the lips looked a lot less ashy and the lines under my eyes were lessened. Neither of these pictures were edited in any way. Let me know in the comments below what you think of the results and if any of you have used any of these products what you all think of them!
REDEFINE Daily Cleansing Mask
PROS: Smell, texture, feel while on the skin, brightens skin, tightening, quality of product
CONS: Wouldn’t use everyday, price is a little high for amount of product
FINAL VERDICT: I can’t say I recommend or not recommend this product because I don’t have enough information to do so. I would have to test this product out for at least a week preferably a month to give you a final verdict.
REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum
PROS: Capsules, hydrating, smoothing, lightweight
CONS: Odorless, cost
FINAL VERDICT: This was my favorite of the three products I tried and I would recommend this product!
REDEFINE Intensive Renewing Serum
PROS: Capsules, smell, smoothing, comfortable on the skin
CONS: Slightly thick, cost
FINAL VERDICT: I would have to try this product out more to see if it is effective in the long-term so I can’t recommend this until I know how well it actually does work over time.
